The sound of the word is kind of laughable – monadnock.

It’s a lonely mountain that remains standing when the rest of the landscape has been eroded away by time and weather. And for Marylanders, the word “monadnock” is synonymous with Sugarloaf Mountain, a fist of rock that rises above a bucolic piedmont near Frederick.

Sugarloaf is crisscrossed by hiking trails to some impressive features like greenstone fields and expansive vistas, which makes it a appropriate setting for this, the fourth teaser for the upcoming season of Compass Points TV. New episodes start March 3 right here at Compass Points, and don’t forget to check out the three previous teasers here.
