A memorable week here at Compass Points comes to a close, and we’re invigorated with momentum heading into the spring.
We weren’t sure what to expect from the debut of Compass Points TV on Wednesday since we’ve never done it before, but “Episode One: Fall for Ricketts Glen” proved to be the second-most popular post at Compass Points, setting the benchmark for future episodes. We invite you to share “Fall for Ricketts Glen” and any future episodes on your blog, Facebook or Web page.
Compass Points TV returns this Wednesday with another video about a hiking destination and will continue weekly into April. Check out the teasers to get a glimpse of what’s to come.
Yeah, Compass Points TV is brought to you by “Trail Blazes: A New Generation of Hiking Guides.” We’re producing something we think will enhance your experience on America’s trails, and we’ll release more information about Trail Blazes as we go through March.
We’ll end this week with a pair of videos from two men we aspire to be like and who unknowingly have come to influence Compass Points TV. We sometimes in this world stand on the shoulders of giants who come before us.
First is Tony Farley from Beautiful Places In HD. You’ve heard me praise his work before, and he recently released a new video about Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. We hope to emulate Tony and his work, and we’re grateful he provides these sublime and inspiring videos to the public:
Second is someone who has what I consider one of the supreme jobs you could ever hold – video producer for Yosemite National Park, Ca. His name is Steven Bumgardner, and you can see his work, Yosemite Nature Notes, at the park Web site. Informative, eye-pleasing, stirs the restlessness. Below is the vid for the impressive Tuolumne River, which you can easily imagine yourself hiking next to or dipping your feet in while watching this:
Have a great weekend everyone. The dazzle we try to provide doesn’t just end at this Web site. Don’t forget to join the expanding Compass Points community by becoming a Facebook fan and a Twitter follower.
You know the words:
Hike on, Pointers!
