Tony Farley of Beautiful Places in HD is back with a new episode about Crater Lake National Park, Ore., and he’s bringing a new twist to his outstanding program.
Tony for previous episodes would feature a picturesque locale and narrate with soothing tones and at times relaxing poetry. It was quite sublime.
Now, however, Tony is putting himself more in front of the camera and explaining with greater detail how to hike to these beautiful places. You get trail information, alternative paths, gear suggestions and so on. It’s quite a change.
I still love Tony’s old format, which inspired imagination and willpower to go hike the locations he’s featured. I hope he doesn’t completely abandon the tried and true. But this new way of producing Beautiful Places In HD is a move forward in helping us viewers actually get to his beautiful places.

Don’t worry. My plan is to do two totally different shows at every place I visit. One show the old Beautiful Places way that is just about the place and one show showing a hike, giving tips, and my mug in front of the camera. Hopefully it will add a little fun to the podcast.
Thanks for the article!
Tony
Happy to see both formats. Hike on!
