Heading for a beautiful weekend here at Base Camp Compass Points Media, and we’ll celebrate with a new Friday Pics slideshow. This one takes viewers on an 8.6-mile loop to Pulpit Rock and The Pinnacle, a pair of wide open vistas on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania. Check it out on the new DAY HIKER, published earlier this week; download GPS route and waypoints, find directions to the trail head and more.
Compass Points Media is deep, very deep, in the planning stages of new products for 2011. Lots of brainstorming over endless cups of coffee, and we can hardly wait to show readers and viewers what’s coming. We want to launch now, but as Miyagi would say, “Patience, Daniel-san.” Except my name’s not “Daniel,”‘ but you get the point. I’m going to do some crane kicking now.
Karate Kid references aside, come join the outdoors conversation at the Compass Points Media Twitter, and give us a “like” at Facebook, where you can watch video, share your own hiking photos and tips and more. Don’t forget to check out the Backcountry Radio podcast at iTunes, where you can not only listen to interviews with outdoor experts but hear tips on how to maximize your time in the backcountry and watch Compass Points TV. And finally, if you’re tired of lugging around that guidebook, give Trail Blazes hiking guides a try for iPhones, iPods or any Mp3 player.
You know the words …
Keep hikin’ on, friends!
