Veteran journalist Dave Pidgeon founded Compass Points Media in October 2009. He’s worked in newspapers, magazines, television and online formats, and he brings that media expertise to the avocation of hiking and outdoor adventure.

Dave’s work can also be seen in the pages of Backpacker, and he’s teamed with other adventurers to test gear for multiple outdoor publications. He’s a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, and he’s put boots on trails from Ireland to Arizona and from the Adirondacks to Costa Rica.

Dave lives in Lititz, Pa., with his wife, Alison.
